Partner institutions

A large network of partners work to implement MAIZE. They capture a wide range of innovative ideas, ensure the quality of the research, and integrate the skills of the most able and well-connected members. Many of these partnerships already existed, having evolved during collaborative planning of priority activities in past years.

• 100 universities in developing and developed countries

• 57 non-government organizations and farmer associations
• 11 country governments that host maize offices
• 180 small- and medium-sized seed companies, and 226 community-based seed producers that reach out to disadvantaged farmers
